Tanzania Explores Advanced Digital Technologies During Visit to Viettel High Technology
The Minister for Communication and Information Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Angellah Jasmine Mbelwa Kairuki (MP), has visited Viettel High Technology Industries in Hanoi, Vietnam, to explore opportunities for collaboration in advanced digital technologies, telecommunications infrastructure, and innovation aimed at accelerating Tanzania’s digital transformation agenda.
During the visit, Hon. Kairuki received a comprehensive briefing on Viettel High Technology’s research and development and manufacturing capabilities in telecommunications equipment, 5G technologies, Cybersecurity, solutions, smart city platforms, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI).
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Kairuki commended Viettel High Technology for its commitment to innovation and investment in research and development, noting that such technologies have significant potential to support Tanzania’s vision of building an inclusive and resilient digital economy.
Minister Kairuki emphasized that the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, under the leadership of Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, continues to prioritize investments in digital infrastructure and emerging technologies as key drivers of socio-economic development, industrialization, and job creation.
Officials from Viettel High Technology Industries expressed their readiness to collaborate with Tanzania in areas including telecommunications infrastructure development, technology transfer, digital innovation, capacity building, and research partnerships. They highlighted the company’s experience in designing and manufacturing advanced telecommunications equipment and delivering digital solutions across several international markets.
